The Hawaii County Fire Department announced Monday they found the body of a missing opihi picker.

The Hawaii County Fire Department announced Monday they found the body of a missing opihi picker.

According to a report, the 50-year-old man was last seen at about 1:45 p.m. Monday at the shoreline fronting Hale Kahakai.

Divers later found the victim face down near the shoreline fronting Hale Kahakai.

Fire Department officials used a rescue boat to extricate the man and transported him to Wailoa Boat Ramp.

The body and scene was later turned over to the Hawaii Police Department for an investigation of public accident, the fire department said.
